Organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Organic Search Engine Optimization is all about showing up on the first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing with sites that cast your business in a good light for your prospects and repeat customers.  The sites that you want to show on the search engine results page (SERP) include your website, but in most cases should also include social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, etc), directory sites, review sites, press release sites, news sites, video hosting sites (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) to name a few.

By having a wide range of sites that rank for your business, you can be in a position of dominating the search results for the name of your business.  In addition, you want to be able to have your business rank well for search terms that your strategical select based on the intersection of the terms your prospects are searching for and the terms for which you can rank given your marketing activities and budget.

Here's an example of Barbara Bruin's Yahoo search for her name.  Barbara is an animal advocate who wants her name and related websites to be associated with animal adoptions and reducing euthanasia in animal shelters. As you can see below, the first several items on this search engine results page are looking very good for Barbara.
